Delete your Aera account and data
Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and needs no email.
- Open Aera and go to the You tab.
- Under Trust, tap Delete account. You can also reach it via Privacy → Delete everything.
- Type
DELETEto confirm, then confirm again in the dialog. - If you have an app lock, confirm with your biometric or PIN.
Everything on the device is erased immediately. Your account and any cloud data are then queued for deletion.
Request deletion without the app
Not available yet Deletion by email is not open yet, because Aera has no published mailbox. Please delete from inside the app while you still have access to your device. When an address is live, it will be listed here along with what to include in your request.
What gets deleted
- All cycle, symptom, mood, and journal logs, on the device and in cloud backup
- Your account email, display name, and password
- Sign-in identities for Google and Apple
- Partner share grants, invitations, and shared packs
- Subscription entitlement and receipt records
- Feedback you submitted from inside the app
- Saved sessions on all devices, so you are signed out everywhere
- Research programme consent, which permanently severs the link between you and any contribution you made
What we keep, and why
- A record that a deletion took place, with the date and no health content. We are required to be able to show that we honoured your request.
- Research contributions you chose to share. These carry no identifier linking back to you once your consent record is deleted, so they cannot be traced to you or removed individually.
- Redacted email delivery logs, which record that a message was sent but not its contents.
How long it takes
Data on your device is erased the moment you confirm. Account and cloud deletion is completed within 30 days. Once it is done, the email address is free to use for a new account, and the old account can no longer be signed into.
